The Vikings did what they needed to do Monday night. They defeated the reeling Chicago Bears 30-12 for their seventh win in a row and improved to 12-2, matching the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the NFC. If the Vikings win out in their final three games, including at Detroit in the regular season finale, they will be the NFC North champions and will have the inside track on the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

But the Vikings’ degree of difficulty will increase after defeating the 4-10 Bears. The Vikings’ final three regular season games are against current playoff teams: Seattle, Green Bay and Detroit.
