Gus Johnson’s voice was not prepared for Omar Cooper Jr.’s game-winning TD catch.

The Indiana receiver made one of the best catches of the season with 36 seconds to go in the No. 2 Hoosiers’ 27-24 win over Penn State. As Cooper came down with both of his feet in the end zone before going out of bounds, Johnson’s voice could not handle his excitement.

The touchdown was reviewed and the call on the field was upheld after officials originally ruled that Cooper’s catch was good.

Johnson’s voice was already under some stress in the fourth quarter. The excitable announcer is known for raising his voice for big moments and was very excited as Penn State took a 24-20 lead in the fourth quarter following an interception.

However, Indiana got the ball back just inside the two-minute warning and drove 80 yards for the game-winning score as QB Fernando Mendoza produced a drive that could make him a Heisman finalist.

The win makes Indiana 10-0 and drops Penn State to 3-6. The Nittany Lions started the season at No. 2 in the AP Top 25 and now have to win their final three games of the season just to make a bowl game after firing coach James Franklin earlier this season.
