In an exciting opening 30 minutes, the Packers took a 17-14 halftime lead over the Lions in the first game of the NFL’s Thanksgiving triple-header.
Green Bay took a 10-0 lead and led 17-7 after Romeo Doubs caught Jordan Love’s second touchdown pass of the day just before the two-minute warning. Undaunted, the Lions mounted a quick scoring drive just before halftime that was capped off by Jameson Williams’ 22-yard score on a screen pass.
Love’s passing was complemented by Josh Jacobs and a Packers running game that amassed 80 yards on 16 carries in the first half. The Lions were able to mount two scoring drives despite the absence of Amon-Ra St. Brown, who left the game after sustaining an ankle injury during the first quarter. He has been labeled as questionable to return. With St. Brown out, Williams has picked up the slack with 69 yards on three catches.
Green Bay (7-3-1) currently holds the sixth spot in the NFC standings, while Detroit (7-4) would be out of the playoffs if the postseason started today. That will change, however, if the Lions can win this game while atoning for their Week 1 loss to the Packers.
