The stars are out tonight for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills — hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser for the second year in a row — celebrating the best of film, television and, for the first time, podcasting.

The list of 2026 nominees was revealed back in December. Leading the pack with the most nominations is Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, with nine nominations across the comedy/musical film categories, including best picture, best director and Leonardo DiCaprio’s nod for best actor. Meanwhile, Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value secured eight nominations on the film drama side.

Across the various television categories, HBO’s The White Lotus has the most nominations, with six. Adolescence, which dominated the limited series categories at the Emmys in September, is up for five Golden Globes. Only Murders in the Building and Severance have four nominations apiece.

When asked by Yahoo about his role in the Netflix hit — which conveys the isolation of teenagehood and the potential consequences of that — and the recognition he’s received for his performance, Owen Cooper said, “It’s the most proudest I’ve ever been.”

“We made this show in the summer of 2024, and we made it with love. It was a special show when we made it, but never in a million years did we think we’d be here, the Emmys, the Critics Choice Awards,” he said. “Even in this continent, really. We didn’t think we’d be here but we’re all, just the cast and crew, so grateful to be here.”

Owen Cooper, the 16-year-old star of Adolescence, said he felt that it “did not feel real whatsoever” to be standing onstage and accepting the best supporting male actor award.

“I took a risk. I went to drama classes. I was the only boy there, but I got through it,” Cooper said. “But I’m still very much an apprentice. I’m still learning every day. I’m still learning from the people in front of you, in front of me, the people who inspired me. I wouldn’t be here without you guys.”

The star of Hacks quickly pivoted to current events on the red carpet when she was asked about the show.

“Everything’s a little bit overshadowed by what’s going on in our country,” Smart said. “I feel like we’re kind of at a turning point in our country, and I hope people can keep their heads — because that’s actually going to be the hardest thing, to keep our heads. It’s going to take a lot of courage, restraint, but I think that’s important.”

Smart added: “I know that there are people who find it annoying when actors take opportunities like this to talk about social and political things, but I’m not here right now speaking as an actor, I’m speaking right now as a citizen and a mom, and I hope people understand that.”
