The first awards show of the season has officially wrapped up after stars collected their trophies, sipped on Moët champagne and snacked on Nobu sushi.
“The Brutalist,” which was up for seven awards, took home some of the biggest awards of the night — Adrien Brody won for best actor in a drama, Brady Corbet won best director and the movie won best drama.
The most nominated film, “Emilia Pérez” with 10, took home four awards — best non-English language picture and musical or comedy, Zoe Saldaña for supporting actress and “El Mal” for best original song.
In the television categories, “Shogun” brought home all four awards it was nominated for. Other big shows didn’t fare as well — “The Bear” had five nods and received one award for Jeremy Allen White’s role, “Only Murders in the Building” was up for four awards but didn’t bring any home.
Some unexpected wins of the night: Fernanda Torres won best actress for “I’m Still Here,” “Challengers” took home the best original score award and Demi Moore won her first Golden Globe for her role in “The Substance.”
