Beloved Hallmark star Brennan Elliott shared a heartbreaking tribute to his wife, Camilla Row, on March 22, 2025, thanking fans and friends for their prayers during the last eight years, as she bravely battled gastric cancer.
“It is with a soul crushing devastated heart that my beloved wife #cami passed away at 5:28 this morning,” Elliott wrote in a social media post hours after Row’s death.
Sharing a photo of his wife looking vibrant and healthy next to the ocean, Elliott shared, “There is no easy way to say this but I know my wife @camilla_row would have wanted me to thank every person from all over the world who prayed for her over the last 8 years she suffered immeasurably trying to survive and live with #stage4gastriccancer.”
Elliott and Row were married in September 2011 and share two children — Liam, 12, and Luna, 10. In his tribute to Row, Elliott wrote, “Our babies and I lost our rock, a person who not only was the love of my life,my soulmate,my best friend and lover but the toughest strongest fearless person I have ever met in my life and the greatest mother to her babies.”
Elliott continued, “The pain she endured only I might know but assure all who loved her she is in peace with no more pain. You are with the lord now my queen!. You are free! Heaven is a far better place with you in it my love. THANKYOU for being the best wife, mother and friend I’ve ever known.”
“What you did for the #gastriccancer community was immeasurable,” Elliott added, “but what you did for me as a man will last forever. For any of you who met or knew her your life was blessed because of her presence. I love and am in love and will always be in love with you my baby!”
Elliott concluded his tribute by writing, “I know u r dancing and are on vacation in heaven and free from the grips of cancer. When the lord calls me and it’s my time I will c u in heaven and we will start dancing again.!! I will always be your hot mess!
missing you on this plane forever but will c u soon! THANKYOU Cami for being YOU!”
On January 30, Row provided an update on her private Instagram account, hopeful as she shared that she was starting a new cancer treatment trial.
She told her followers, “After nearly 2 months off treatment, multiple trips to the ER and hospitalizations (surgeries), I am finally back to kicking this cancer’s butt!”
Row continued, “Recently learned that I express Claudin 18.2 at 90%. Claudin is a biomarker for gastric cancer so this is considered targeted treatment. There were a few scary moments but I am ready to get back to my normal, my new normal.”
“I am hoping and praying this is my ‘Hail Mary’ miracle treatment,” Row added. “I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to even participate in a trial, thankful to God as he paves the way for me, grateful for all of your support and prayers. you all!”
After an early-stage diagnosis in 2018 at age 39 and successful treatment for stomach cancer, Row’s cancer returned in 2022 as stage 4, a diagnosis that some patients only survive “a few weeks,” she told the nonprofit Hope For Stomach Cancer in November 2023.
She became a tireless advocate for gastric stomach patients and pushed for more research, attending and speaking at advocacy events, courageously trying experimental treatments, and sharing her story — including how it took two years to receive her diagnosis despite paralyzing heartburn symptoms.
“Stomach cancer can hide very well,” her City of Hope oncologist, Dr. Yanghee Woo, told Today.com in 2024. “It’s not very distinct unless it gets very big.”
In September 2024, Row shared images of her lobbying in Washington D.C. and encouraged her followers to urge their Congress members to support the Stomach Cancer Prevention & Early Detection Act.
