Nintendo has hosted several of its Direct livestreams this year, but today’s September broadcast was one of its biggest to date. The livestream featured a balanced mix of first-party and third-party games, with special emphasis being placed on the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. franchise.
The celebrations included a new look at next year’s Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel, the upcoming launch of both Super Mario Galaxy games on Switch 2, a new Mario Tennis game, and even a brand-new adventure for Yoshi. The other big reveals from the livestream included the December release date announcement for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Virtual Boy games for Switch Online subscribers, and a first look at the next Fire Emblem.
