The Fiesta Bowl is the host site of the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff as 6-seed Penn State travels to face 3-seed Boise State in a highly anticipated battle. Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty emerged as one of the top rushers in college football history and has a chance to break Barry Sanders’ rushing record on Tuesday.
However, the Nittany Lions hope to reach the final four teams for the first time in program history after crushing 11-seed SMU to pick up its first CFP win in the first round. Edge rusher Abdul Carter was a menace in the win, posting two tackles for loss and a sack. He will try to replicate the performance against Boise State.
The winner of the Fiesta Bowl will go on to play the victor of (2) Georgia vs. (7) Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl, which will serve as a national semifinal.
