The Los Angeles Rams will meet with quarterback Matthew Stafford in person Friday to discuss his future, league sources said.
The meeting, which will take place at the team’s facility, comes as the trade market for Stafford has become more active over the past week.
The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants have discussed two-year contracts for Stafford that include $90 million to $100 million guaranteed, according to the sources. The Rams gave Stafford’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, permission to talk to other teams as a contract dispute between Los Angeles and its No. 1 quarterback has dragged on.

The Rams and Stafford initially met before the Super Bowl, and talks did not progress as the two sides did not agree on how much the quarterback was worth. By allowing his agent to talk to other teams, Stafford could explore his market value.
As The Athletic previously reported, the Rams have been wary about making a significant financial or time commitment to a 37-year-old quarterback whose long-term future or durability they can’t be certain about — even though Stafford’s level of play inarguably gives them their best chance to win now and Stafford has only missed one game to injury between 2023 and 2024.
