As the National Enquirer previously reported, Rob and Michele’s bodies were discovered in their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday, December 15, and their deaths were ruled a homicide on Wednesday, December 17.
Rob and Michele’s younger son, Nick Reiner — who was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia, according to TMZ — was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his parents, with a special circumstance of multiple murders and a special allegation that he used a knife.
Nick made his first court appearance on Wednesday, and his attorney, Alan Jackson, declined to enter a plea on his behalf.

Jackson shared a statement with reporters on Wednesday regarding the case.
“We ask that during this process, you allow the system to move forward in the way that it was designed to move forward,” Jackson said per the BBC. “Not with a rush to judgement, not with jumping to conclusions, but with restraint and with dignity, and with the respect that this system and this process deserves, and that the family deserves.”
The arraignment will continue on January 7.
