Will Levis on benching: There’s a positive future for me here or somewhere else

The Titans have benched starting quarterback Will Levis after 11 games and two wins this season. Mason Rudolph will start Sunday’s game against the Colts.

In announcing the move, coach Brian Callahan said he still believes in Levis’ future as an NFL quarterback.

Levis still believes, too.

“I still believe that I can be a franchise quarterback for this team,” Levis said Wednesday, via video from Paul Kuharsky of paulkuharsky.com. “I have the upmost confidence in myself and my ability to lead any team in this league. I think this year was great development for me, and I think I truly did improve. I sure as heck don’t want to go out like that. I know that there’s a positive future for me whether it’s here or somewhere else, and I’ve just got to go and have the conversations I need to here and hopefully I can show and prove that I can still be the guy.”

The Titans made Levis a second-round pick in 2023, and Callahan was hired to try to turn him into a franchise quarterback.

Instead, the Titans still have questions about their long-term answer at the position.

Levis started nine games last season, and the Titans went 3-6 in those starts, and they were 2-9 in his starts this season. He has 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in his career and has averaged 186 passing yards per game.

The Titans currently have the fifth selection in the 2025 draft.
