Next up: High on Life 2

We’re getting a sequel to one of the funniest shooters we’ve ever played: Squanch Games’ irreverent High on Life. It’s coming this winter to Xbox, PS5, and PC. You can check out the official trailer below:
Xbox Games Showcase is underway

Xbox kicked things off with a new Outer Worlds 2 story trailer that showed off the game’s big bad venture capitalist and some shots of the combat and worlds we’ll explore.
It’s an odd first move given that we’re getting a full Outer Worlds 2 presentation after the showcase, but hey, at least we finally have a release date: October 29.
You can check out the new story trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 below:
The countdown begins

We’re less than 30 minutes away from the Xbox Games Showcase, and the pre-roll video countdown is already underway on Microsoft’s live stream page on YouTube. The countdown shows NPCs fishing in what looks to be Fallout 76 or possibly one of the games being announced during today’s presentation.
All the biggest Summer Game Fest announcements

It’s been an explosive Summer Game Fest so far. You can check out all the buzz around the latest announcements and trailers on our Summer Game Fest hub, including our first look at Resident Evil 9: Requiem, an epic new co-op adventure from LEGO, and the return of “Shovel Knight” developer Yacht Club Games with a new game that looks ripped straight from the Game Boy Color.
Save big on these Xbox games

While you’re waiting for Xbox’s big showcase today, you can stock up on games for your library without breaking the bank. Xbox is celebrating all the Summer Game Fest hype by slashing prices on must-play titles like Lies of P and Star Wars: Outlaws, one of the best games set in a galaxy far, far away that we’ve had in ages.
Right now, you can score 65% off Overcooked! All You Can Eat, the definitive edition of one of our favorite couch co-op series.
New Gears of War: E-Day trailer or gameplay?

It’s been a year since developer The Coalition announced Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel game that explores the early days of the Locust outbreak. Several familiar faces are expected to return after a handful of Gears of War sequels went in wild directions, so that’s something for fans to get excited about.
What we’ve seen of E-Day so far seems phenomenal, but we’re likely to get our first proper look at today’s Xbox Game Showcase. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
Rumored Persona 4 remake

One of the worst-kept secrets in gaming, the long-speculated Persona 4 remake, will likely be revealed at today’s Xbox Games Showcase.
The remake from legendary RPG studio Atlus is reportedly being developed for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. While there’s no word on a Switch 2 port yet, its absence from early leaks doesn’t completely rule out that possibility.
The rumored Persona 4 remake is expected to follow in the footsteps of last year’s critically acclaimed Persona 3 Reload, which updated the graphics, combat, and pacing for modern audiences. If history serves, fans can expect Persona 4, one of the most beloved entries in the franchise, to get a similar overhaul.
Welcome to our Xbox Showcase 2025 live blog!

As Xbox’s big annual summer event, we’re expecting to see the latest and greatest games coming to Microsoft’s gaming console. And now that Xbox is effectively a third-party developer, the games we’ll see won’t just be relegated to systems like Xbox Series X/S.
If you’re a PlayStation or Nintendo gamer, you’ll want to keep an eye out for games potentially coming to your favorite platform. The Outer Wilds 2, which will have its own dedicated showcase immediately after the Xbox event, will be a spotlight title. We could also see updates for Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, and Forza Horizon 6. It’s also not a long shot to expect footage from the next Call of Duty title.
This show might also give us some details on the rumored Xbox handheld collaboration between Asus and Microsoft.
